Potter-Fact 15

Dementors are a physical representation of Rowling’s experience with depression. She has revealed that the inspiration for Dementors came from her bout with severe depression before her phenomenal success. She described the feeling as an "absence of being able to envisage that you will ever be cheerful again. The absence of hope. That very deadened feeling, which is so very different from feeling sad."

Aparecium : Revealing A Few Facts [Part 2]

Potter-Fact 6
Fred and George Weasley

Fred Weasley and George Weasley were identical and mischievous twin wizards born on 1 April, 1978 to Arthur Weasley and Molly Weasley. Brilliant pranksters, they co-founded and ran the joke shop Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and were members of both Dumbledore's Army and the Order of the Phoenix.

Although they were identical, Fred and George's Patronums were different. Fred's was a Hyena, and George's was a Coyote. Although J.K. Rowling has never actually revealed what the patronuses are of the Weasley Twins. Many people have their own opinions of what they think their patronuses are (hyena, coyote, foxes, etc.) but we are never really sure...

When Fred died, George was never able to cast the patronus again - how could he when every happy memory he had involved a dead man?

Potter Fact-7

Harry with Hedwig; his pet owl.
Hedwig (1991 - 27 July 1997) was Harry Potter's pet Snowy Owl. She was a gift to Harry on his eleventh birthday from Rubeus Hagrid, in 1991 and was purchased from Eeylops Owl Emporium. Owls are used by wizards to deliver mail, but Hedwig was also an important companion as Harry was initiated into the wizarding world, and continued to be one of his closest companions until her death in the Battle of the Seven Potters in 1997.

J.K. Rowling says that she found Hedwig's name in a Book of Saints. The owl is named after St. Hedwig.

Potter-Fact 8

Professor Remus John Lupin (1960-1988) was a werewolf.

Remus Lupin transforming to a Werewolf.
A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or a therianthropic hybrid wolf-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse or affliction. Lupin transformed into what it's above called, therianthropic hybrid wolf-like creature on the night of First Moon.

This fact is universally known. But have you ever noticed that when re-arranged in a specific pattern, the letters in Remus Lupin spell Primus Lune which roughly translates to First Moon in Latin.

Potter-Fact 9

Lord Voldemort
Lord Voldemort's greatest fear was his own death which is perfectly portrayed by his own course of actions of creating Horcruxes.

A Horcrux for that matter is a powerful object in which a Dark wizard or witch has hidden a fragment of his or her soul for the purpose of attaining immortality. Creating one Horcrux gives one the ability to anchor one's own soul to earth if the body is destroyed; the more horcruxes one creates, the closer one is to true immortality. Creating multiple Horcruxes is suggested to be costly to the creator, by both diminishing their humanity and even physically disfiguring them.

Rowling says if Voldemort ever saw a boggart it would take the shape of his own corpse, since death is his greatest fear.

A boggart is an amortal shape-shifting non-being that takes on the form of the viewer's worst fear. When facing a boggart, it is best to have someone else along, to try to confuse it, since facing more than one person at once would make it indecisive as to what form it must take, usually a mixed-up amalgam of the victims' fears. Because of their shape-shifting ability, no one knows what a boggart looks like when it is alone, as it instantly changes into your worst fears when you first see it.

Potter-Fact 10

Sirius Black and Fred Weasley; two pranksters from different generations, died laughing.

Aparecium : Revealing A Few Facts (Part 1)

Potter-Fact 1

The first book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published on June 26, 1997. It was approximately ten months before the Final Battle of Hogwarts was fought. It took place in the early hours of 2 May, 1998, within the castle and on the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To this author J.K. Rowling when asked said...

"I open at the close."

Now to understand this clever reference by Rowling, I hope you guys remember the Golden Snitch.

Potter-Fact 2

Mirror of Erised : Harry Potter
and the Sorcerer's Stone
The Mirror of Erised (desire; when spelled backwards) is an ancient ornate mirror. The mirror shows the most desperate desire of a person's heart, a vision that has been known to drive men mad. It has clawed feet and a gold frame inscribed with the phrase...

" Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi"

When you reflect this inscribed phrase in some other mirror it'd say,
"I show not your face but your hearts desire." with the spaces re-arranged.  (Try reading the phrase backwards.)

Potter-Fact 3

The Patronus Charm, Expecto Patronum is the most famous and one of the most powerful defensive charms known to wizardkind. It's an immensely complicated, very difficult spell that evokes a partially-tangible positive energy force physically visible as a silver light known as a Patronus or spirit guardian. It is the primary protection against Dementors and Lethifolds, to which there is no other protection.

Harry conjuring a Patronus Charm against Dementors : Harry
Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

This ancient and mysterious charm conjures a magical guardian, a projection of all your most positive feelings. Patronus, a guardian which generally takes the shape of the animal with whom the wizard conjuring it shares the deepest affinity.

The amazing thing about this charm is that in Latin language,

"Expecto Patronum" literally translates to "I await a guardian"

Potter-Fact 4

Since the Patronus is a physical representation of one's soul, James Potter's Stag and Lily Potter's Doe make them literal soul-mates.

A Stag : James Potter's Patronus
A Doe : Lily Potter's Patronus

Potter-Fact 5

Ronald Weasley's patronus is a Jack Russell terrier, which is a breed of dog and is known for chasing otters. Now co-incidentally Hermionie Granger's patronus is an otter. Well...
